The PEMPAL Treasury Community of Practice (TCOP) successfully launched a thematic group, addressing various issues related to public sector accounting and reporting reforms. The group’s first meeting took place in Skopje, Macedonia on September 27-28, 2013 and brought together representatives of 16 TCOP member countries.
• public sector accounting standards;
• accounting of public assets;
• consolidation of financial reporting.
The main part of the Skopje meeting agenda has been allocated to group discussions, identifying specific practical issues that TCOP members are facing in relation to the three sub-topics. The discussed topics helped the participants to develop their working plans. Work took place in three smaller groups, one for each of the three sub-topics. Participating countries that had expressed interest in any of these three topics have been invited to join the corresponding small group.
The results of the small group discussions, including working plans, were presented and discussed at the closing plenary session in the afternoon of September 28. The meeting concluded with decisions on the implementation of the plans.
Language: The meetings were conducted in English, Russian, and Bosnian with simultaneous interpretation available.
