26 - 27 June 2006

First Treasury Community of Practice Meeting

Ljubljana, Slovenia

What we were trying to achieve:

Learning activities

  • To learn from and with each other through some community-oriented learning activities
  • To adopt a shared framework for a project maturity model with stages and indicators
  • To hear from countries that have completed their projects
  • To work on cases brought by the participants
  • Have cross-over learning between treasury heads and IT directors

Community-building

  • To get to know each other and our respective projects, issues, and needs
  • To understand what communities of practice are and how the idea is relevant
  • To explore what can contribute to each other
  • To produce a design for a community
  • To develop commitments to a vision
  • To commit to key next steps
  • To have some fun together

Principles

  • To maximize focus on learning about the practice of treasury system reform while still working on building a community
  • To be very interactive all the time
  • To have time to network and interact informally
  • To put as much as the design of the community in the hands of participants
