Following the discussions in Tirana that demonstrated high interest in the community to using active cash management instruments, TCOP Thematic Group on Cash Management and Cash Forecasting held a VC on January 28, 2025. TCOP members from 14 PEMPAL countries (Albania, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, North Macedonia, Romania, Tajikistan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan) as well as a representative of the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia joined the meeting.
The objective of the event was to visit in a little more detail the development of more active cash management, with a discussion of how the forecasts are used, of cash management instruments, and of country practices in applying them. The main presentation during the videoconference was delivered by Mike Williams, World Bank Resource Team advisor. Romeo Dumitru, General Directorate of Treasury, Romania, and Erekle Gvaladze, Treasury of Georgia, acted as discussants and shared experiences of their countries in using active cash management instruments. The presentations were followed by a discussion.
