On October 5-7, 2015, PEMPAL Treasury Community of Practice (TCOP) held a meeting of the thematic group on Use of Information Technologies in Treasury Operations in Tbilisi, Georgia. The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Finance of Georgia and its financial Analytical Service (FAS) and was attended by 53 specialists from 10 TCOP countries (Albania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Montenegro, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, and Turkey). The workshop continued a series of TCOP events devoted to exchange of experiences in implementation of Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS).
The main objective of the event was to offer an opportunity to the members to discuss selected issues of priority interest for the group based on experience of Georgia. Many of TCOP members heard about the FAS ambitious plans for the system development during the TCOP meeting held in Tbilisi in early 2012, so there was a great interest from the participants to learn about the progress achieved by the Georgian colleagues since then. The event also served as the forum for updating the IT Working Group activity plan for the ensuing year.
