PEMPAL IACOP Audit in Practice and Central Harmonization Unit Challenges Working Groups Meeting
On June 3-5, 2025, PEMPAL IACOP together with the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro, held a meeting of the Audit in Practice and Central Harmonization Unit Challenges Working Groups in Budva, Montenegro.
The meeting: (i) explored Montenegro’s Public Internal Control and Internal Audit reforms, focusing on peer advice and experience sharing; (ii) updated the Internal Audit Manual Template to align with the new Global Internal Audit Standards; (iii) discussed the role of internal audit in promoting sustainability in the public sector and gathered input on a draft outline of the Sustainability Audit Guide; and (iv) engaged in discussions on best practices, challenges, and solutions to strengthen internal auditors’ performance auditing capabilities.
