The new Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) introduce substantial changes to internal audit practices across all sectors, including the public sector. Effective implementation can be enhanced by strong collaboration between Central Harmonization Units (CHUs) and national branches of the Institutes of Internal Auditors (IIAs), particularly in translating the standards, as well as in broader efforts to support their implementation in the public sector. 

This members-only Smart Interactive Talk (SIT) offers a dedicated platform for IACOP countries to exchange experiences and lessons learned in GIAS translation and CHU–IIA cooperation. The session will feature insights from the IIA Global Headquarters on the formal translation process, findings from the IACOP survey, and country reflections from Armenia, North Macedonia, Albania, and the Czech Republic. 

Participants will engage in an interactive discussion to explore key challenges, highlight good practices, and consider how IACOP can further support members in aligning with the new standards in a structured and effective manner.
