Cracow, Poland
The PEMPAL Budget Community of Practice (BCOP) successfully organized a study visit for BCOP participants from eight countries to Cracow, Poland on December 9–12, 2013.
The main objective of the visit was to get an overview of the entire budget planning process and the program budgeting reforms in Poland. The study visit included discussions and examination of the relationships between the Ministry of Finance and other key stakeholders at the local government level, and how performance is monitored, reported and improved through the reform process.
As a follow-up, the participants held a round table on the lessons learnt, considered Poland’s approach to implementation of reforms to take these into account in their own countries. A report on the study visit will be prepared and disseminated to the BCOP membership.
