PEM PAL Budget Community of Practice Meeting

PEM PAL Budget Community of Practice held its first meeting in Vilnius, Lithuania in March 2007. The meeting was organized back-to-back with the third OECD  meeting of Senior Budget Officials from Central, Eastern and South-Eastern European countries (Eastern Europe SBO).

The agenda of the PEMPAL meeting focuse on setting up the Budget Community of Practice including the election of the chair and discussion of future activities.

The agenda of the 2007 OECD SBO meeting included presentations and discussions on: the relationship between the Legislature & the Executive Budget Office; Public engagement in budgeting; Performance budgeting and accruals budgeting; and PEFA Benchmarking. Furthermore, two comprehensive reviews of the national budgeting systems for Hungary and Turkey were presented and discussed.
